In Hong Kong you get the best of both worlds – the fast pace of life in big city with lots of calming beaches just a short bus ride away. Deep Water Bay is the closest to our uni accommodation, so when its not raining we will probably be here quite a bit, though the plan is to try them all out (if that’s possible in a year). Hong Kong may not have the best beaches in the world, compared to say Thailand or Vietnam, and water pollution can be an issue at certain times. However, the beaches of Hong Kong sure are better than anything we have in the UK, as the water is actually warm enough to enjoy. On our first trip to Deep Water Bay we had a glorious afternoon just kicking back and chilling on the floating pontoons for hours on end.
